#1 | Italian Organic Cotton
Fabric Composition and Origin
- Composition: 100% Organic Cotton
- Sourced & made in Italy
- Weight: 180 gsm
Fabric Description
These are sourced and manufactured by a small-scale family business in Italy. The cotton is a breathable and resistant fabric which makes it ready to wear, timeless, easily washable.
100% cotton means that it is made from fibres collected from the plants and that the yarn is not mixed with other entities. Resulting in a stronger, softer and more comfortable fabric. The yarn wicks moisture and therefore allows the skin to breathe and reduces the possibility of breakouts. All in all, the classic t-shirt cotton is our evergreen and permanent item in all our collections.
Sustainable Atributes
- Cotton is a natural fibre and therefore biodegradable, recyclable and long-lasting
- If cotton is produced in an environmentally friendly way, this means no or limited chemical use and natural fertilisers, it is a responsible fibre
- We know that our manufactures use conscious practices and involve this philosophy
- We are aware that there are no organic certifications
- This is because the cost of certifying is for small-scale farmers themselves and therefore more of a financial limitation
- Our cotton is thus not labelled ‘organic’ but nevertheless of high quality and more eco-friendly, we are working on involving more certified Cotton into our collection.
- The shipping routes from our fabric supplier to the factory sewing the garments is less than 10km, since they are based in the same village in Italy. Shipping materials from mills to factories can have a big environmental impact due to emissions if distances are too long.
