Abstract
Through the exhibition Trace, photographer Joséphine Leddet reveals to us a series of nine photographs that capture the fleeting instant of water’s movement.
Each image represents the allegory of her feelings: the ebb and flow of the waves symbolize her emotions, her temperament.
Her images do not only immobilize the water: they capture a state of the soul, a breath, a balance between tumult and serenity.
Water, always in activity, nevertheless seems motionless under the photographer’s lens, as if suspended in time, a dance between agitation and calm.
The foam becomes the visible trace of an encounter between two energies that leave a fleeting mark.
In this meditative observation of the surface and the depths, the photographer finds a form of stillness, of recentring.
Thus, Trace brings together these different dimensions to question the memory of passage, the beauty of the ephemeral, and the silent dialogue between water and being.
On the water, the photographer celebrates the beauty of natural movements; beneath the water, she finds purity, silence, letting go.
And what if water could reflect our own movement?
