Japanese Cotton Fleece

Japanese Cotton Fleece

FABRIC DESCRIPTION:

Our classic Terry Fleece made of 98% Cotton and 2% Elastane. This versatile textile is made and manufactured in Wakayama, Japan. The process includes the usage of Japanese machinery dating back to 1902. This intricate technique gives structure and weight to the creation of a traditional sweatshirt. The raw, comfortable and organic feel translates into a testament of longevity and practicality of our garments.

As a Can Pep Rey wardrobe essential, these sweaters can be perfectly layered for a fresh winter day or cool summer night.

SUSTAINABLE ATTRIBUTES

Cotton is a natural fibre and elastane is a synthetic fibre. If cotton is produced in an environmentally friendly way, this means no or limited chemical use and natural fertilisers, it is a responsible fibre. We know our manufactures use conscious practices and involve this philosophy. We are aware that there are no organic certifications. This is because the cost of certifying is for small-scale farmers themselves and therefore more of a financial limitation. We chose to add little elastane for the purpose of longevity and comfort.

GARMENT CARE DESCRIPTION:

This is a general guide on how to care for your cotton garments. Helping maintain the longevity of each garment.

WASH CAREFULLY

Cotton needs to be washed regularly since it does not have the natural anti-bacterial and odour-resistant properties. We suggest washing it at 30°C or hand washing it for spot treatments. This is to limit exposure to the yarn, maintaining the quality of the garment. We recommend turning colourful garments inside out before washing, for colour protection.

DRY NATURALLY

Give the garment a gentle stretch, or shake when the piece comes out of the washing machine. This will help the garment maintain its natural shape. To prevent shrinkage in the drying process, the fabric should be air-dried and out of the sun.

IRONING & STEAMING

Cotton garments don’t always need need ironing. Simply shake or stretch the garment when it comes out of the washing machine, and let them dry on a plane surface. If the garment does need ironing, then we recommend placing a slightly damp cloth over the thread to avoid direct heat. Direct heat may ruin the material, so avoid the steam setting of your iron.
