FABRIC DESCRIPTION: 

Our undyed Alpaca knit consists of 75% Alpaca and 25% Recycled Polyester. The yarns come from Italy and are manufactured into a garment in Belgium. Undyed refers to the hand-painted lines as a pattern. This knit is a rare and natural animal fibre which is softer than cashmere. It is a lightweight and very airy textile retaining warmth 3-5 times better than wool. 

This fabric is a dream to wear with its breathable, absorbent, wrinkle-free and luxurious qualities. It is the perfect fabric for autumn and winter as it is airy and will keep you warm. 

SUSTAINABLE ATTRIBUTES

The reason to add recycled polyester to these garments comes from a priority of comfort and longevity. Due to the short length of animal fibres, recycled polyester is added to increase the length of the yarn. An alpaca is considered one of the greenest animals as they produce more fleece, have softer hooves than sheep and have effective grazing habits. These all reduce environmental impacts. 

 

GARMENT CARE DESCRIPTION: 

This is a general guide on how to care for your fine alpaca garment, helping you make your clothes look better and last longer.

HAND WASH

Because alpaca is so delicate, we recommend always hand washing it with lukewarm water. Use an appropriate soap made to specifically wash wool so as not to damage the scales. 

DRY NATURALLY 

It is recommended that these garments are flat dried after washing on surfaces away from direct sunlight. These garments are not recommended to tumble dry. To speed up the drying process, you can roll your clothes in white towels to absorb the water. Never hang up wet knitwear, it will lose its shape. Alpaca should not be dried in an electric dryer. 

LOW IRONING

Set the iron on the Wool or Medium heat setting. Too hot-a-setting could lead to discolouration or in the worst case causes scorch marks. However, the best option is to lay the garment flat and gently reshape and size by hand; this way it will be wrinkle free.
